Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as Director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She has received a lot of praise for being the pioneer of research into child witnesses as well as eyewitness memories in the context of legal proceedings. Professor Goodman publishes widely has received multiple grants, and been honored with many national and international awards. Her work has been with numerous governments and organizations all over the world to conduct research and guidelines pertaining to child victims of the justice system. She works as a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center and was previously The Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She has been a member of a variety of professional organizations, which include that of Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions Experimental Psychology and Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families policy and practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) She is also a founding members of the American professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was president of 3 divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development and Practice Division, American Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
